Web3 jun. 2014 · The first time I read the short story "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" I felt so worn out and almost on the verge of a panic attack, choking back a throat full of bile at the gradual painting of a situation that Ellison had managed to stuff, kicking and screaming, into my mind that I couldn't fall asleep for several hours. WebI recently read I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, and it was one of the most nihilistic pieces of science fiction I've ever read; particularly the strange sexual undertones involving Ellen and the other prisoners, and the ending. was wondering if anyone could recommend any other sci-fi short stories with a similarly bleak tone and subject matter.
